If you are planning a move or an extended trip away, you may be wondering what to do about your mail. If you have a friend or a relative who can visit your home once in a while and pick up the post (bills and letters), then your problem is solved. But, what if you don’t have a baba to stop by on the regular?

The good news is that Hrvatska pošta (Croatian Postal Office) offers options to put your mail on hold or to redirect it to a temporary address while you’re gone or on the move. Putting your mail on hold or having it redirected is shockingly expensive, but sometimes you have no other choice.

In this post, we cover:

The facts are these…

All you need to do to activate this service is to visit the post office closest to your home and complete a written request, which they will provide to you.

If you want, someone else can pick up your mail while you’re away. To activate this service, go to the post office with the person who will pick up your mail.

The post office worker will give you a form to fill out. This form gives authorization to the person that came with you to pick up your mail on your behalf. The fee for this service is 62,50 kuna. The authorization is valid for one year.

It is also possible to make an authorization at the address of your choice. In this case, you will pay a fee in the amount of 125 kuna.
