UPDATED: 20.4.2023.

It is quite challenging to get hired in Croatia as a foreigner, especially when you are not from the EU/EEA and don’t speak any Croatian. Companies have to request permission from the government to hire non-EU/EEA citizens.

If the company is given permission to make the hire, the new employee then has to apply for a work and residence permit. This gives the worker the right to work and live in Croatia, as long as they only work for that company. This process inevitably requires involvement from the company. Small businesses usually don’t want to mess with any more bureaucracy than they must, so they tend to avoid hiring foreigners.

Thankfully some larger companies are open to hiring non-EU/EEA citizens and jumping through the associated hoops. These companies have call centers, which need people who speak multiple languages like English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, and more. For jobs such as these, foreigners are in high demand.

We’ve put together a list of companies regularly looking to hire people who speak foreign languages in Croatia. We will also tell you about a job web site where you can find even more jobs tailored to foreigners.

In this post, we cover:
